My October Essentials

October is the start of one of my favourite times of the year, it’s the start of Autumn then heading into Halloween, Winter and Christmas. So I’m still on mission to swap my wardrobe over from season to season, but my hair and skin essentials are already there! So let me share with you my October Essentials. . .

First of this is the one thing I cannot live without, I’m utterly obsessed!!! It smells amazing (I love coconut) and reminds me of the long summer days, plus it does amazing things to my hair.

After I decided, basically over night that I wanted to go back to being grey again, I kinda went a bit crazy and started bleaching my hair.  Which everyone knows isn’t good for it, but hey when has that ever stopped anyone?!? So with my hair all dried out and frizzy I headed to Boots to find something, anything that might save my hair.  And wah-la I found my Coco Loco Coconut Spritz and believe me when I get paid I’ll be investing in more of Lee Stafford’s Coco Loco products and spoiling my hair.

Another Lee Stafford product I picked up to save my hair was this Bleach Blondes Golden Girl Oil and I tend to use it more during the day as a de-frizzer.

As for my skin I’ve been using No7 Micellar Cleansing Water to remove my makeup and day and night. It’s great on my skin and super easy to apply just with a cotton pad, so I can be lazy and do it in bed, rather than a full routine in front of the mirror over the sink.

Followed up by No7 Beautiful Skin Day Cream again day and night to keep my skin as moisturised as possible.

As for my lips I’m using the new scent/flavoured Peach and Mango Carmex Lip Balm I picked up in Superdrug, it’s another reminder of the summer flavours and smells and doesn’t have that same tingle as Carmex usually does.

Finally my latest obsession especially for these colder months is tea and not just your regular tea but Twinings Pomegranate White Tea.  Really refreshing and not too fruity, something different when I want a light tea taste without milk.

What are your new season essentials? I know for sure I will need to get myself some eye drops to moisturise my eyes now that I’ll have the heating on in the car.  Can any of you guys recommend any? I’d probably need ones I could use when I’m wearing my contact lenses too.

Help please! Xx

In the Highlands

Last weekend I had the most fantastic time in the Highlands of Scotland for a wedding and long weekend. My first time in Inverness and my first authentic Scottish wedding.

My long weekend started off with me getting my hair cut and coloured by the fabulous Hayley in Headrush in Bangor.  Loving my grey hair, it was in desperate need of a touch up and colour boost!

Sad as I am, I was extremely excited to be flying from Belfast to Inverness with Flybe on the off chance I’d be able to pick up a Krispy Kreme donut.  Well they do advertise this now and we can’t get them in Northern Ireland, and as you can see I got one!!!! £2 and just the ring donut but yay they had them on board and I was able to get one, it tasted even better after dieting all month for the wedding!

Inverness did not disappoint when it came to those stunning Scottish views! As we were early to check in we ended up dumping our bags with the hotel reception and ventured into town.  Heading for some lunch we also soaked in all the stunning views, especially those of the River Ness.

We also soaked in the sights of some of the bars and took full advantage of happy hour and the Friday deals.  Well when on holiday. . . It would be rude not to!

We made sure to test out as many as possible. Have to say Bar One up near Eastgate shopping centre had a great selection!

I tried out my first Gin mojitto and it was delicious.

After a few more drinks and dinner with my other half’s family we finally headed back to the hotel to check in.  We were staying about a five minute drive/20 minute walk from the centre in the Premier Inn West.  My first time staying in the Premier Inn and it definitely won’t be my last, great value for money, fantastic staff who were extremely helpful and a spacious well lit room. And hey Lenny Henry is 100% right, those beds are soooo comfy, slept like a log!!!

The next morning was the big day.  After a mammoth breakfast we got ready and headed out.  Finally getting to wear my cream fascinator from Accessorize, let me tell you this was a nightmare to get over without squashing or breaking it!

And hey we scrubbed up well! I loved my ‘wiggle’ dress (a recommendation from my best friend Amy) from asos, which I teamed with my fascinator from Accessorize, shoes from Next and my clutch that I borrowed from my bestie from River Island. Oh and not forgetting my tan by Cocoa Brown.

The bride was absolutely stunning, we started of with the traditional Scottish wedding in a little church in Dingwall (loving the names of these places).

No traditional Scottish wedding would be complete without men in kilts and my goodness there were a lot of kilts! The groom looking the most dashing of course.

Such stunning flowers in the bouquets and reception hall.

Sticking with the Scottish theme, I loved the colour scheme!

The wedding reception was in a stunning little village called Strathpeffer (again loving the name) and in the Spa Pavilion.

There was so much thought and detail put into every element of the big day, nevermind signing a guest book we all printed and signed our own finger prints.

In the wedding favours, the gifts to the wedding party and the fun cards we were left to fill in at our tables.

This was the first time I’ve seen something like this and might just have to steal it one day lol, so much fun to fill in and see other people’s self portraits!

Such a beautiful hand made wedding cake from a family member, believe me it tasted as beautiful as it looked.

The small, personalised details even went as far as the paper bags for our sweets.

Oh I nearly forgot, no traditional Scottish wedding would be complete without some Haggis. These were haggis bonbons, I’ve had haggis before at home and liked it, but these did not even compare, they were delicious.

Even the music for the had a traditional twist with Rhythm and Reel performing throughout the night, covering both modern and traditional songs.  I was mesmerised with the Highland dancing, oh how I wish I could dance like that!

There was even a photobooth, and you all know how much I love a photobooth! The girls from Bliss Photobooth were fantastic and look how fab the gold sequence back drop is!!!

With the prosecco and wine flowing spirits were high all round.  The day was full of smiles, laughter, love and chat!  I had an absolute ball and was so grateful to be included in such a wonderful day!

The next day after a good lie in and an Irn Bru, the other half and I decided we wouldn’t waste such a beautiful day. So the comfy shoes went on and we headed out to explore some of the scenery again and aim to stay out of the pubs.

First off was a walk along the canal really close to our hotel.

Next up we headed up to Inverness Castle, boy that hill was tough after spending the day before in stilettos!

The views were definitely worth it though.

We spent a good hour just taking in the views, snapping pictures and sitting contently in the sunlight listening to the nearby church bells.

Having worked up an appetite we had dinner at Zizi’s, an Italian restaurant in Inverness.  The food was authentic and to die for, I went for the aranchi (I’ve always wanted to try it) followed by the duck ragu.

We ended the night with a few more drinks in the popular local Johnny Foxes and then that was us off home the next morning.

Really can’t wait to get back to Scotland for New Year and we will definitely be visiting Inverness again!

Host your own Jamberry Party

youlikefreeandcutenailsHosting a Jamberry Party can be so much fun! You get to share your love of Jamberry nail wraps, we post/show pictures of amazing manicures that women are doing, play games and oh, yeah– you earn hostess rewards!

Each month, Jamberry offers its hostesses an Exclusive nail wrap design that can be earned only when you host a Jamberry party. And depending on the success of your party, you can earn up to 3 exclusive designs! These are amazing designs that aren’t available to buy, they can only be earned when you host a party!!

You aren’t in it alone, as your consultant I  help you to plan and host your party. You can pick the venue for your event – online on Facebook or in your home, you can choose the games we play, and you can even have a say in how long you want your party to run! I am at your disposal in making your party the best it can be. Alongside sharing our love of these fantastic wraps and having fun with your friends Jamberry’s hostess rewards are amazing.  They really do offer some of the best Hostess Rewards versus other party company businesses.

Party Points are the equivalent to the amount of money spent – 150 points = £150 so if you have people buying £150 worth of wraps then you receive 150 points and then as you can see in the chart above you’ll get £13 product credit, half-off (half price) on 1 item and 10% discount on host order.  The more items sold at your party and the more money spent, the more points you receive and discounts you get.  Not forgetting your free Exclusive nail wrap design when you reach 100 points.

Let’s find out more about the Jamberry Parties you can host –

Facebook parties are a great wait to share Jamberry with your friends and family if most of them are spread out around the country and therefore can’t come to your home! At this stage we can decide how long you want your party to run for . . . a few hours, a weekend?

Then a couple of days before your party is set to start, I recommend posting on your PERSONAL page, and letting all your friends know that you will be having a Jamberry party! This gives them a heads up and ensures that they keep their eyes open for an invite.

You could say something along the lines of this: Hey Everyone! A couple of days from now I’m going to be having a Jamberry party right here on Facebook! I’ve discovered these amazing nail wraps called Jamberry nails, and I just know that you all will love them too! Please keep an eye out for an invite over the next few days to an event where we can all learn about how AMAZING Jamberry is!  In the meantime, have a look at all the amazing designs on the website! There’s literally something for everyone, no matter what your style or personality. (Insert the link that I send to you here.) I hope you all can make it! It’s going to be really fun, quick and easy and did I mention you don’t even need to leave the house!

See how easy that is? Your friends will see your enthusiasm and know ahead of time they will be getting an invite, and it just helps build up the anticipation. At this point, I will be creating an event or a group for your party, and I’ll send you an invite the day before and make you a host!

13043340_10153456532452021_3899264922836506473_nBefore you invite everyone, be sure to post a welcome message! I post one too, but they don’t know me, and of course, I’m selling them a product, so the more welcoming and enthusiastic you are, the more excited they will be too! You can post this the night before your party starts or the morning of, just make sure you do it before inviting your friends.

The morning that your party starts, send out those invites! Typically, I recommend inviting around 50 – 100 guests. Don’t worry about who you think will buy, and who you think won’t, just invite anyone that you want to tell about Jamberry! Sometimes the ones we think won’t buy end up placing the biggest orders and the ones we think will love it just aren’t interested. Even if it’s someone you haven’t talked to in a while, but you think they would enjoy the product, send them an invite. The more the merrier!

After sending the invites to everyone, it helps to send out a personal message to those you are close to (think family and best friends) and those that you really think should check this product out. I stress personal, because that goes a long way! Anyone who RSVP’s yes or maybe, and anyone who is liking and commenting on posts and seems to be even a little interested, those are the ones that you really want to keep in touch with during the whole week, and see if they have questions. The more involved and excited you are, the more likely your party will bring in more orders, which means more rewards for you! So keep it personal!

Depending on how long we’ve decided your party will last, I will post about 2-3 times a day. I cover everything from application and removal, to cost and going over all the products that we offer!

I always do one big giveaway that your guests can earn points towards throughout the party, as well as some smaller giveaways. We want everyone to be commenting and liking and asking questions, so at least once a day I will have a post that is meant to be very interactive.

One night during your party (whichever works best for you) we will do a LIVE event! This will last about 45 minutes, and it will just be a time when I will be active on the page, and we will invite everyone to be on at that time as well. This is where I can interact more with everyone in real time, as well as go over everything they need to know about Jamberry, as well as answer any questions they have. Anyone who attends will be able to earn points and be entered for a special giveaway!

The best advice I can give you is be interacting and enthusiastic! You should be posting about once a day as well, or at least jumping on and commenting on my posts. Your guests want to hear from YOU! What do you love about the product, why do you think it’s so amazing, why should they try it out. Post photos of the Jams you are wearing so they can see them! Tell them how easy it was to apply and how fast you did it. Take another photo and post it at the end of the week so they can see how well they have help up! I’m just a sales rep hoping they buy what I sell (that’s how they see me) but YOU are someone they know and trust and when they see your excitement, they will get excited (it’s infectious, trust me)!

As the party draws to a close, I’ll be reminding everyone to get their orders in, and it helps once again, if you send out personal messages to those who have shown any sort of interest. Just remind them that the party is closing and to get their orders placed or to me. I offer a few more incentives and do a few little giveaways most of the time towards the end hoping to get a few last minute orders in🙂 And that’s about it!

You and I (your Jamberry Consultant) work together to choose a date and time, then you invite your friends, family and neighbours.

Any food, decorations and beverages you want to offer are totally up to you.

During the party, you get to be the hostess with the mostess, while I will demonstrate the application process and individually help your guests try samples.

I will play a couple of short games and hand out a couple of prizes to your guests!

Unlike other girls night parties, this party will only need the attention of all of your guests at the same time, for about 15-20 minutes.  Then they can go back to cocktails and chatting!

  1. How will I know what rewards I have earned? – As soon as I close your party, I will let you know the final sale amount and what rewards you have earned!
  2. How soon can I redeem my rewards? – You can redeem your rewards as soon as your party closes, you will have 5 days from closing to redeem them.
  3. Can my rewards be combined? – No you can’t combine any of your rewards together unfortunately.  For example if you have £5 in product credit left over, you can’t take £5 off one product and then use the half off code on the same product.
  4. Can I use some rewards now, and save the rest?  – No, only one hostess rewards order can be placed, you don’t have to use all of your rewards if you don’t want to, but anything you don’t use, you will unfortunately lose.
  5. Can I use the BUY 3 GET 1 FREE offer with my hostess rewards? – No, that offer can’t be combined with the hostess rewards.

Hosting a party costs you nothing, is super fun, and I do most of the work! So what are you waiting for? Sign up and host a party and add my name ZANE FRASER as your consultant or for more information contact me

Wrap Up Beautiful

Wrap Up Beautiful is the name I decided on when I became an Independent Consultant for Jamberry in the UK.  I was previously introduced to Jamberry by the fabulous Sam from The Annoyed Thyroid.  I then by coincidence met some fabulous ladies from Jamberry who were in Belfast for the UK launch when I was out for my birthday.

Inspired by both these meetings and a friend who had also become a Jamberry Independent Consultant I decided to find out more about becoming an Independent Consultant myself. The most important thing for me was to try out more of the products and try them out on my friends, I wanted to be 100% certain these wraps really worked! The lovely Malinda who I met on my birthday was really kind to send me out two full sheets of two different designed wraps – enough for one manicure and one pedicure with each sheet.

Sheet oneShattered Glass

This is the Shattered Glass wrap (#shatteredglassjn) over my acrylic nails, which I have to say were growing out and with a couple lifting I wasn’t sure how well the wraps would work, or last. However, there was no problem with that at all, I was able to wear my wraps for 2 weeks, and they actually held the lifting nails down and I was able to get longer out of them.

Sheet twoIt’s Complicated

This is It’s Complicated (#itscomplicatedjn) on my best friend’s nails, she was my guinea pig as I know applying this over acrylic is never a true and realistic test of how durable something will be, and she has natural nails. Her nails are actually very flat and she finds it hard to wear gel nails etc so this was another test to how the Jamberry Wraps would work on her nails. She also was 100% the girl for the job as she is constantly having her hands in and out of water with having a dog, then she would find doing cleaning etc around the house would have an effect on her nails and any polish.

The bestie’s review on her Jamberry wraps‘I was really shocked (in a good way) about how long the wraps actually lasted (over 2 weeks) as my nail polish usually chips a day after I’ve painted them with cleaning etc and the fact there is zero drying time is a massive bonus!’

So before I show you any more of the wraps I’ve worn or applied, let me tell you a little more about Jamberry nail wraps.

FB_IMG_145850446453612966298_10153580105263435_1902710512_nApplying-Jamberry-Nail-Wraps12931209_10153439003462021_3137084737993645466_nAlongside the full sheet of wraps I was given some accent nails to try out so let me show you them on myself and my friends.  I tried these out as a 7 day challenge – this basically means you apply a wrap to 2 nails as an accent nail and paint the rest with polish and just watch what lasts the longest, the wrap or the polish (p.s.I’ll let you in on a secret, the wrap ALWAYS wins!).

Jamberry Nail Wrap = Sweet Nothing (#sweetnothingjn)

Jamberry Nail Wrap = Lava Lamp (#lavalampjn)

Jamberry Nail Wrap = White Romance (#whiteromancejn)

Jamberry Nail Wrap = Fractal (#fractaljn)

So after doing my research and testing the wraps up as much as I could I was 100% convinced at how good the Jamberry Nail Wraps were so I decided to take the next step and become a Jamberry Independent Consultant.

Within the starter kit I received these pretty floral wraps, no name for them as they are an exclusive to the UK starter kit. And the biggest step I took was to completely remove my acrylic nails – first time in 6 years, that’s how much I believe in Jamberry Nail Wraps and take a look at just how stunning these wraps are on!

The next wraps I applied, which I am actually currently wearing are English Garden (#englishgardenjn)

As well as long lasting, full of variety and stunning they are also so easy to apply.

So what do you think? Do you like the look of Jamberry Nail Wraps? Would you like to see more, buy some or try them out yourself?  Well let me tell you how –

You can try out a free 7 day challenge like these lovely ladies above. Just comment on this post, email me at

Spanish Chicken and Beans

Tonight the other half and I made this delicious Spanish Chicken and Beans recipe we found online.  I thought I would share it with you all as it was delicious and also because it will be easy for me to find when we want to make it again.

  • 600g chicken thighs
  • 125g skinned and sliced chorizo
  • 1 onion, peeled and sliced
  • 1tbsp olive oil
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 large garlic clove, peeled and chopped
  • 1tbsp red pesto (or sun-dried tomato paste)
  • 410g can of cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
  • 300ml hot chicken stock
  • A few thyme sprigs
  • 1tsp smoked paprika

Method (how to make it)

  1. Heat olive oil in a deep frying pan. Add the chicken thighs skin-side down, skinned and sliced chorizo and onion. Cook the chicken for 5 mins without turning it over to allow the skin to brown, but stir the onion and chorizo.
  2. Turn the chicken over and add the red pepper, deseeded and cut into chunks, a large garlic clove, peeled and chopped, red pesto (or sun-dried tomato paste), cannellini beans, drained and rinsed, hot chicken stock and a few thyme sprigs.
  3. Sprinkle smoked paprika on top of the chicken. Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for 25 mins, until chicken is tender.

Do you ever just stop and look around you?

Starting off the day with an upbeat Monday message, the last Monday before we finish for Easter hols and the start of my three day week!  I decided today to stay a little longer in work and on my way home I was glad I did when I sported this view.

A lot like my Papa used to do, I just had to stop and take photographs on my way home, making my drive at least half another longer than usual, but 100% worth it!

It just shows when you stop in the hustle and bustle of everyday life there is so much beauty around us.
