Tea in the afternoon

It’s the start of my birthday week like I have said, and what better way to start than afternoon tea at my favourite dessert place Treat Boutique with my best friend?! Well that is how we spent Saturday, the sun was shining, Spring clothes were on and we were booked in for a lovely treat!

Our afternoon tea . . . yummy!!!

There was a great selection of sandwiches to choose from; cream cheese, salmon and cucumber, cherry tomato, cheddar cheese and pesto and then the ones Saz and I chose; chicken Cesar salad and ham, brie and red onion jam.

The next level was an option between soup or scones. The soup was tomato and basil and the scones were blueberry or plain. We decided to go for the scone option and went for one of each flavour.

As much as I love the Bailies Coffee that Treat Boutique serve I always think afternoon tea is best accompanied with a cuppa!

The top layer are desserts that are picked for you, we had the jelly and cream, mini coconut macaroons and a chocolate filled cup.

This was so good and I swear the cream tasted like vanilla ice cream, so light and yummy!

Next up I went for the chocolate cup filled with whipped cream and topped with a raspberry and slice of orange.

Finally finishing off with the mini coconut macaroon.

The afternoon tea was really, really good, we both loved it all! This was Saz’s first time at Treat Boutique and I have definitely converted her to this mouth watering food. The afternoon tea was lovely and filling but didn’t leave us completely stuffed. We would 100% recommend Treat Boutique for afternoon tea for a special occasion, actually this would be perfect for Mother’s Day!
